Part Time Health & Wellness Specialist
Since 2009, The Dorm has been a mission-driven, client-centered mental health organization that has been bringing comprehensive, evidence-based treatment to young adults, ages 18-30. We are looking for a skilled, proactive, and compassionate Part Time Health & Wellness Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team remotely and contribute to our goal of making a difference.
The Health & Wellness Specialist will work closely with our clinical and program teams to facilitate individual and group wellness sessions that support clients’ physical, emotional, and overall well-being. This role is ideal for someone who brings a thoughtful, inclusive, and client-centered approach to wellness and is comfortable working with young adults with diverse needs and experiences.
What You Will Do:
- Provide individual client sessions based on client needs, level of care, and clinical appropriateness
- Facilitate group sessions in alignment with client needs, program structure, and level of care
- Maintain timely, accurate, and consistent clinical documentation, including group notes, in accordance with program standards
- Support versatile techniques and approach to movement and wellness, which may include modalities such as yoga, meditation, breathwork, and other emerging or relevant practices
- Assist in maintaining overall organization of training space & general cleaning of training equipment and supplies
- Build strong rapport with clients while maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment
- Work in conjunction with supervisor to curate customized individual training plans and group classes relevant to The Dorm community
- Inform health & wellness program development and evolution based on community needs and new modalities as they become available or relevant
- Facilitate activities and engage clients during weekly group sessions (subject to change as client and organizational needs change).
Current Session Schedule
- Monday 1pm Meditation
- Wednesday 2pm Improve the Movement
- Fridays: 2pm Mindful Embodiment
Work schedule, including an average of 3-4 hours per week, is subject to change based on the business needs of The Dorm.
Requirements:
- Accredited personal training and/or group fitness certification required
- Proven experience working as a personal trainer and/or group fitness instructor
- Strong working knowledge of fitness training and exercises
- Ability to motivate clients
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Have impeccable time management and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Excellent hospitality and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Compensation: $50 USD/hour.
