Since 2009, The Dorm has been a mission-driven young adult mental health organization dedicated to helping young adults build lives of independence, connection, and purpose. As our organization continues to grow, we are looking for a highly analytical, systems-minded, and detail-oriented Data & Systems Project Manager to support development, scale, maintain, and streamline the data infrastructure that supports our clinical, admissions, finance, billing, and operations teams.

The Data & Systems Project Manager will serve as a key technical and operational partner, helping translate business needs into reliable data models and develop/manage code repositories.The ideal candidate is someone who can think strategically, build practically, and maintain systems with long-term accuracy, usability, and continuity in mind. You must also be able to educate stakeholders on how to run, monitor, and troubleshoot reporting solutions developed by the data engineering team.

This contract role is intended to serve as a long-term technical partner for the organization, helping maintain and strengthen The Dorm’s data architecture, reporting environment, and operational technology systems.

What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using AI driven software development practices to write python code and work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Build and optimize data models and manage code repositories using Git and GitHub.
  • Participate in code reviews through GitHub pull requests and monitor data quality and troubleshoot pipeline issues.
  • Implement CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions.
  • Train and mentor team members on the execution, validation, and troubleshooting of automated report-generation processes, including the use of GitHub-managed code and supporting documentation.
  • Design, develop, document, and maintain data pipelines, automations, integrations, and reporting systems that support mission-critical business functions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot existing reporting and automation systems, ensuring reliability and timely resolution of issues when upstream systems vendor platforms, or internal workflows change.
  • Establish and maintain documentation, version control, testing, and change-management practices to improve long-term system reliability and maintainability.
  • Partner with software vendors and third-party consultants to evaluate technical solutions, support system integrations, and ensure tools are aligned with organizational needs.
  • Create scalable technical architecture that minimizes dependency on manual processes and supports future organizational growth.
  • Maintain and continuously improve data governance, reporting standards, and system documentation to support continuity, accuracy, and knowledge transfer.
  • Partner with clinical, admissions, finance, billing, and operations leadership to understand business needs into sustainable technical solutions.
 

What you need to Qualify:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in software engineering, data scientist, business systems administration, healthcare technology, analytics engineering, systems architecture, or related technical fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, APIs, data transformation, and automation development.
  • Ability to independently support and maintain systems after implementation, including troubleshooting, debugging, adapting to vendor platform changes, and ensuring continuity of critical reporting and operational workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining production-level systems, automations, integrations, or reporting environments.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions for automation and deployment.
  • Experience designing solutions with maintainability, scalability, and operational reliability.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, ETL processes, business intelligence tools, and modern data architecture concepts preferred.
  • Healthcare, behavioral health, EHR, revenue cycle, or KIPU experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a remote environment and have access to a reliable internet connection.
  • Company data may not be downloaded, stored, processed, or accessed on personal devices and must only be used on company-approved devices and platforms.

Compensation: $75-$100/hr (commensurate with experience) 

Schedule: Part time or contract position, up to 15-25 hrs per week
